Jenna & Mike’s Engagement Portraits
Today I photographed Jenna and Mike’s engagement portraits in downtown Detroit, MI. It was a lot of fun! They are getting married next year on a cruise in the Western Caribbean on February 13, 2008. Congratulations to Jenna and Mike!!!
Detroit will always have a special place in my heart. There are so many great places for photography and beautiful architecture all around. Here are some of my favorite shots. They look so happy!!!

Spring is Here!!!
Wow! I cannot believe how quickly everything is popping up in our yard and all over Raleigh. Every day I can notice a difference and it is amazing how fast everything is growing. Here is a photograph of the tree in our front yard and our dog Keego – he likes to smell flowers.

Bass Lake Bridal Show Coming Up
I am going to be participating in the Bass Lake Bridal Show in Holly Springs, NC on April 1, 2007. I am excited about it, but also a little nervous as this is my first bridal show. Most of my work comes from referrals and the little advertising that I do. I figured I would try this show as it is a more intimate event. The whole MEGA bridal show in a huge auditorium does not appeal to me. I like to be more personal with my clients and not make them feel that they are in an assembly line. This venue seems like a good fit for me. I hope to meet a lot of brides to be as well as some other local vendors in the area. I hope to see you there!

Who I am
Before I get too much into the detail, I wanted to tell you a little about me and catch you up to the present. My name is Maranda and I am the owner of Forever Young Photography LLC. I have been doing wedding photography for 9 years. I grew up in Warren, Michigan. I went to Wayne State University in Detroit, MI where I studied business administration and took photography classes for my release. Little did I know that something I enjoyed so much could become my career.
However, I have always loved photography even when I was young. Growing up, my backyard had tons of cool dandelions, our dogs at play, flowers, and so many interesting things that could have been easily missed in day to day activities. I think this is where my appreciation for photography began. To show other people through my eyes the things that I discovered in the yard.
On November 6, 2004, Justin and I got married. He has been a wonderful support and encourager. He also has a good eye for design too and developed my website. He the best husband, and I love him more than I could ever express.
For our wedding, I trained Tommy Tesnow and Pam McDonald to do our wedding photography. Here are a couple of my favorite shots from our wedding.
So now fast-forwarding a bit, Justin and I decided to make a move to the warmer weather in the south. We love the outdoors & doing anything outside. Warmer weather throughout the year meant more time to do the things we love. We checked out a couple of cities in North and South Carolina, but decided that the Raleigh area was destined to be our new home. We currently live in Holly Springs, NC and are really happy with our move.

First Blog
Hello everyone out there…somewhere…reading this. It is nice to have a space to share my love for photography, ideas, & thoughts all bundled up in one little package. I hope you enjoy reading my posts. I have been wanting to start a blog for my business for a while. So, I thought now is as good of a time as ever. Happy reading!!!
P.S. If you like running, check out the Run for the Oaks 5k race in downtown Raleigh next year. All proceeds from the race go towards planting trees in Raleigh. It was beautiful running downtown at this time of year. So many trees in bloom with all the white puffs of flowers.
