The Hard Lessons - Slims
I was excited to learn that The Hard Lessons were coming back to Raleigh to play at Slims. Here are some of the shots I got with my little on the go point and shoot. Couldn’t resist the little soap ghost on the soap dispenser in the bathroom - lol.
This image shows how flash can make a scene look entirely different and freeze the action.

Bass Lake Bridal Show
Thank you to everyone that stopped by our booth at the Bass Lake Bridal Show yesterday. Though it was cold and rainy, many brides overcame the weather and got a good head start on their wedding planning. Justin and I had a great time! It is always nice to meet new couples and hear about their wedding plans.
At the Bridal Show, we donated a free Bridal Portrait Session as a door prize to one lucky bride. We also have our annual Free Wedding Photography Giveaway. Good luck to all the couples that entered! The winner will be announced on April 7th! Couldn’t make it to the show and want to be entered into the drawing? Email me for more details.

The Ceremony
The Ceremony is the moment you have been waiting for. It is the essence of the wedding day. All the building anticipation and it all turns out perfectly. As your photographer, I work to capture all the special moments within your ceremony. Because believe me, the ceremony flies by! Most of the time, I am tucked away at the back of the ceremony location so I am not a distraction to the ceremony or your guests. I’ll be clicking away with my camera on my tripod and zoom lenses engaged. Most of the time, flash is not used during the official ceremony so it is a piece of cake for me to follow all venue restrictions on photography. The end result, you will have a great record of your wedding ceremony.

Bass Lake Bridal Show Tomorrow
It is hard to believe that the Bass Lake Bridal Show is tomorrow. Man, March really flew by! Can you believe it is almost April? Wow! If you have time and want to get some ideas for your wedding, stop on by the bridal show. It is March 30th from 1-4. Bring your scarf because it is going to be a cold one tomorrow - not very Spring like. But hey, walking around will keep you warm.
Where else are you going to get a chance to meet with a lot of cool vendors and get tons of ideas - WITHOUT being overwhelmed with 100s of booths - row after row. Come relax, enjoy the view. This show is quaint and intimate; jam packed with great vendors and ideas. Hope to see you there!

Green Guide by National Geographic
This is a magazine that I want to get next time I am at the store - Green Guide by National Geographic.
Here is a little blub about the magazine: Written for general consumers, not for enviromaniacs, Green Guide is chock-full of simple, useful ideas, broken down into achievable steps that make “going green” a gradual and affordable process rather than an all-or-nothing plunge….In creating the first-ever issue of Green Guide magazine, we’ve kept an eye on our own footprint. First, we offer an electronic version of the complete magazine, true to every page. In our printed magazines, the paper mixes post-consumer recycled paper with new pulp from wood certified by the Forest Stewardship Council, which holds foresters to rigorous standards. The inks are made without heavy metals. And the Green Guide, like National Geographic, is meant to be a keeper, a tool kit for going green.

Hurrahs! Spring/Summer Edition
Holly Springs Parks & Recreation quarterly publication - Hurrahs! is a great source to find out about different programs, classes, activities and more happening in the area. One of my photographs from a recent play at the Holly Springs Cultural Center has been selected as the cover image. Here is a sneak preview of the cover below. Look for the new Hurrah’s coming out in April.

Congratulations Leah & Tyler - Watch Out for the Bird Seed!
Leah and Tyler were married March 8, 2008 at Fuquay Varina Baptist Church. This is a beautiful church and they have a great reception area as well. Leah and Tyler had a lot of cute touches including a kids table with jelly beans, suckers, and crayons to color on the paper tablecloth. They also had super yummy juices in cute containers - Lime, Strawberry, and Orange. The final touch was little packets of birdseed for their sendoff. Beware of birdseed everywhere - ouch it looks like it hurt. I think I might still have some stuck in my shoes - lol. :-) A fun and bird-safe alternative to rice.

Getting Ready
Here are some of my fav preparation shots from Leah’s wedding. I like starting the photography coverage from the beginning of the day to document the relationships, anticipation, details, and fun leading up to the ceremony. The preparation shots give you an important piece of the puzzle. She looks great!

Michael & Mitchel - Just being Boys
Michael and Mitchel’s portraits remind me of boys being boys. They laughed a lot and we had a lot of fun. I also did some fun effects in photoshop for them as well. Now they are ready for the comic book. :-)
