Backyard or an Oasis??

We headed over to Kim’s for her Birthday. Happy Birthday Kim! The Greek Potluck was awesome - so much yummy food and such a great idea. Who could resist the fire pit or the tranquility of the pond. Now this is a backyard. It felt like being on a distant retreat to a far away oasis. Wish I was back by the fire now….

Elegance and Architecture ~ Nikki’s Bridal Portraits

Here are some of my favorite images from Nikki’s Bridal Portrait Session. We had a wonderfully cloudy day for the most part, besides a few peaks of the sun here and there - great conditions for photography! I just have so many favorites it was hard to narrow them down. We had a great time and Nikki looked wonderful!

I am happy to announce that Forever Young Photography LLC will be a sponsor of the Jingle Ball taking place December 11, 2008.  This is a great event!  Forever Young Photography LLC was a sponsor of the event last year and are looking forward to it this year as well.

Gifts are considered as your ticket for this event. Each participant will be granted entrance to the 2008 15th Annual Jingle Ball by bringing a new unwrapped toy valued at $20 or more or donating $30 cash or check with all proceeds going directly to the Salvation Army of Wake County.  To check out some of the photographs we took from last year, you can view our previous blogs listed below or go to the Capital City Clauses website.

LA & Santa Monica

Justin and I headed to Los Angeles for a short escape to the west coast.  This was my first time to LA and Santa Monica.  My favorite part of the trip was renting bikes and riding them along the beach.

National Volunteer Week

It is always a surprise when you get recognized for your volunteer work. I received a certificate today for my volunteer efforts and commitment to the community for the photography work I have done for the Holly Springs Cultural Center.  Check out what is going on at the Holly Springs Cultural Center.  Maybe I’ll see you there!

In Bloom; Celebrate

I was looking through some of the photographs I took in the spring of the flowers in our backyard. Both of these trees hold a special place in my heart.  They both remind me of growing up.

The first one is a flower from a Dogwood Tree.  When I was younger, my family planted a Dogwood in our front yard.  The second one is a flower from a Pink Magnolia Tree.   Growing up, the neighbor across the street had a huge Pink Magnolia Tree in her front yard.  It was always such a sight when it was in bloom.  Soft pink flowers all throughout the tree almost hiding her house.

How is it that each spring we are greeted by flowers popping up all around?  All these little things we take for granted in the world around us.

Wedding Favor Idea: Trees in Celebration

Justin and I did this for our wedding.  I think it was a great idea and wanted to share it with you too.  Instead of doing a traditional wedding favor, we made a donation to the Arbor Day Foundation in honor of our guests. We estimated the number of people attending our wedding, and donated the amount needed so at least one tree was planted for each guest.  With the donation, you get a certificate that you can display at your reception to let your guests know, you planted a tree in their honor.  Here is a link to learn more
