Salisbury Railway Passenger Station
If you are still looking for a reception location, check out the Salisbury Station in Salisbury, NC. Great lighting, nice location, and tons of lovable architectural details. The station was built in 1908 and has much charm. The doors open up to a foyer with different parlor rooms and a grand waiting room where all the magic happens. A covered concourse lets your party spill outside. To find out more details, check this site out: http://www.historicsalisbury.org/depotrental.htm. The pics below to give you a glimpse into the possibilities of this location.

Just LOOKING for an excuse to get RID of that Bridesmaids Dress???
Okay…I know there may have been the lucky chance that you were in a wedding where you absolutely LOVED your bridesmaid dress; but what about those other ones in the WAAAYYYY back of your closet??? I just found out about this great website - http://thebridesmaidparty.com/
Okay, so the gist is that you can donate your old bridesmaids dresses to help empower poverty stricken, abused women. The Bridesmaid Party set up a program with Hopecraft & Rubia (non-profits) where your dress breathes new hope to women in Lea Toto, Africa and Darra-i-Nur, Afghanistan. They reuse your beloved bridesmaid dress; transforming it into a different product making everyone overall much happier.
As a special bonus, http://thebridesmaidparty.com is offering a $25 credit towards future purchases on their website (applied $40 or more purchase). So not only do you get to clear out your closet and help women around the world, you also get to pick up a few cool things for your wedding or event at a nice discount.
Here is the link to get more info on donating your bridesmaids dress.

Yolanda & Tim’s Engagement Portraits
Yolonda and Tim were awesome to work with. They knew how to forget that I was even there and just fall into the moment during their engagement session. I LOVE the way the images from this session turned out. I have so many favorites.
They did too and decided to order the customized guestbook for their wedding day. The You and Me Guest Book is a great way to share your engagement images with your guests as well as have a wonderful keepsake from your wedding day. The You and Me Guest Book is set up to have some pages for the guest to sign interlaced with full page images. I liked it so much as well, I ordered one as the sample. Make sure to check it out when we meet.

Wedding Favor Idea: Trees in Celebration
Justin and I did this for our wedding. I think it was a great idea and wanted to share it with you too. Instead of doing a traditional wedding favor, we made a donation to the Arbor Day Foundation in honor of our guests. We estimated the number of people attending our wedding, and donated the amount needed so at least one tree was planted for each guest. With the donation, you get a certificate that you can display at your reception to let your guests know, you planted a tree in their honor. Here is a link to learn more.

Looking for Something? Have Something to Give? FREECYCLE
Today I stumbled across Freecycle. What a great idea! This sums it up best,
“The nonprofit organization Freecycle practices the old adage, “One man’s junk is another man’s treasure.” What started in 2003 as a way to reduce garbage in Tucson’s landfills has grown to a worldwide phenomenon of goods exchange. What you don’t want, you gift away. What you might need, someone else might have to give you.
The goal is not to collect more free stuff, but rather, build communities intent on consuming only what is necessary, and recycling the rest. According to a recent study, Freecycle members reduced garbage in landfills by nearly 500 tons a day in 2007, simply by sharing goods, rather than tossing them in the trash.”

Maybe Not Such a Bright Idea
Is this an April Fools joke?? Okay, so this is a little over the top but I thought I would share. This is a little beyond the whole idea of incorporating what you love into your wedding day. When you see a news line like - “Chef fashions wedding gown out of cream buffs” - you can’t help but check it out. Here is a link to the full story and the photograph that was shown with the article on www.msnbc.com.

The Ceremony
The Ceremony is the moment you have been waiting for. It is the essence of the wedding day. All the building anticipation and it all turns out perfectly. As your photographer, I work to capture all the special moments within your ceremony. Because believe me, the ceremony flies by! Most of the time, I am tucked away at the back of the ceremony location so I am not a distraction to the ceremony or your guests. I’ll be clicking away with my camera on my tripod and zoom lenses engaged. Most of the time, flash is not used during the official ceremony so it is a piece of cake for me to follow all venue restrictions on photography. The end result, you will have a great record of your wedding ceremony.

Congratulations Leah & Tyler - Watch Out for the Bird Seed!
Leah and Tyler were married March 8, 2008 at Fuquay Varina Baptist Church. This is a beautiful church and they have a great reception area as well. Leah and Tyler had a lot of cute touches including a kids table with jelly beans, suckers, and crayons to color on the paper tablecloth. They also had super yummy juices in cute containers - Lime, Strawberry, and Orange. The final touch was little packets of birdseed for their sendoff. Beware of birdseed everywhere - ouch it looks like it hurt. I think I might still have some stuck in my shoes - lol. :-) A fun and bird-safe alternative to rice.
