Mabuhay! Greetings from Manila

Hope all is well with you. I landed in Manila Friday night. I have quite a travel scheduled planned for the rest of the year between the Philippines, North Carolina and Michigan for weddings, portraits, events, and pleasure. I’m in the process of making plans for my stay in Manila. I already have a few things lined up with local photographers and wedding planners with a couple of other ideas in the works.

I really want to take advantage of my time in the Philippines to learn more about local wedding traditions and wedding photography as well as explore the country. I am planning on attending Elegant Weddings, a world-class wedding fair at the end of the month at the EDSA Shangri-la Hotel.

It will be great to make connections with local vendors and to see the new and innovative wedding ideas from the Philippines to share with you.  More to come…

Need to get a hold of me or chat?  The best way will be through email since there is a 13 hour time difference. ;-)

Sara and Lio - That’s Amore!

…When you dance down the street with a cloud at your feet, You’re in love….

Sara and Lio were married at Stanford Memorial Church on Stanford University grounds in California.  A very beautiful church!  Lots of mosaics, stained glass, tiles, columns, and architectural details to make anyone drool if you have appreciation for the little details.  Sara and Lio had a beautiful ceremony and a wonderful reception at the Kohl Mansion in Burlingame, CA.  Here is a sneak peek.

Congratulations to Fred and Erin!

It was really an honor to be the wedding photographer for Fred and Erin’s wedding.  Justin has known Fred since  and I met Fred when I met Justin.  He has been a close Friend of Justin’s and a good friend to me as well.  So photographing their wedding meant a lot to me.  I am so glad Fred and Erin found each other and I hope Las Vegas treats them well!

Fred and Erin had their wedding outside at a beautiful setting, under a gazebo overlooking Lake Michigan just outside of South Haven, MI in Coloma, MI.  The reception was steps away under a white tent surrounded by tiki touches.  Everything went perfectly and the beach was icing on the cake or should I say cookies.  Congratulations again to Fred and Erin!  We wish you many smiles and fun adventures together!

LA & Santa Monica

Justin and I headed to Los Angeles for a short escape to the west coast.  This was my first time to LA and Santa Monica.  My favorite part of the trip was renting bikes and riding them along the beach.

Heading to Detroit

I’ll be heading to Detroit the rest of the week to Photograph Andrea and Paul’s wedding.  I know she is excited and can’t wait until the big day is here!  I can’t wait to see all the details she has picked out for the day and Andrea in her great dress!

Speaking of Detroit, here is a funny pic I found.  Justin, me, Big Boy, and Fred at Tiger’s Stadium on Opening Day.  Good Ole Big Boy.

Set Sail and Tied The Knot

Can you believe how quickly this day has come?  Jenna and Mike decided to set sail on a cruise for their wedding.  I think this is a great idea!  They had about 40 family and close friends on board with them on The Inspiration.  Jenna and Mike were married February 13, 2008 in Grand Cayman.  What a great way to celebrate your marriage with your family!  They also had a reception in Michigan to celebrate with for family and friends that could not attend the cruise.  Their reception was at Maggiano’s in Troy, MI.  It was a great setting with awesome food.  Congratulations to Jenna and Mike!

Thanksgiving and a Tripod

Justin and I went home for Thanksgiving.  Here are some pictures I took via a tripod of the gang.  I don’t think we can be serious….  Always playing around.  ;-)

Fall & Family Portraits

Fall is the perfect time for family portraits…  Okay I may be biased as I LOVE fall!  But regardless, the crisp cooler air, the changing leaves and the smell of warm apple cider in the distance….  Oh I miss cider mills!  Here are some of my favorite shots from the Rosinski’s Family Portrait Session.  It is a great honor when I get to photograph the same family throughout the years.  It is great to see the little personalities emerging and becoming adults.

U of M vs. OSU

This weekend we went back to Michigan to visit family and go to the University of Michigan football game against OSU.  Though was cold, rainy, and MI lost, it was still a lot of fun to experience Michigan tailgating again and see our friends.  Hopefully we will be able to go back for another game next season.

Camping at Freeman Park

We headed back to Carolina Beach, NC this weekend and camped at Freeman Park.  The weather & water was nice.   We had a great time. I especially enjoyed laying on the beach and looking up to the night sky filled with tons of stars from the tent.  Justin and I saw quite a few shooting stars.  Keego had fun too.

Houseboating on Lake Cumberland

It was that time of year again to head out to Jamestown, KY for another Houseboat trip.  This is the 5th year that Justin and I have gone with a group of friends.  For the past five years, we have rented a boat from State Dock.  The scenery was extra interesting this year with the lake levels being so low.  The water level was lowered by more than 40 feet earlier this year due to concerns of the Wolf Creek Dam’s safety.  You could really notice the difference on the shoreline from past years.  The weather was nice - hot and tons of sun.  It was nice to see friends from Detroit and relax on the lake.
